Visa Processing Time Lines

Work Experience

The maximum points one can get from previous work is 15 points. The work must be a paid one and must have been gained within the last 10 years. A year would be calculated on 30 hours per week.

Language Proficiency

This is the ability to communicate in either French or English. Being able to communicate in both is also a good asset. There are different bodies that conduct tests Canadian authorities approve of.

1.      For the English language, choose one:

  • The Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP)
  • The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) 

2.      For French:

  • The Test d’evaluation de francais (TEF)

There are four language components that the test would consider. The maximum points one can get is 28. 24 points for language proficiency of CLB level 9 or higher. The other 4 points is when you meet a CLB level 5 of the other official language.

Benefits of Program

Arranged Employment

This means one has a job offer prior to the application for the Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program. This means that either the applicant has the job offer from outside Canada or already has a job in Canada. The job must be a permanent one and on a full-time basis.

Since the skilled job is based on the NOC skill type, the job must be listed as a Skill Type 0, Skill Level A, or Skill Level B.

The highest points one can get is 10 points.

Adaptability

This would allocate point on the basis that one would be able to adjust to the standard of life in Canada. If an applicant has a spouse or partner, it might add to the applicant’s points.

You should try to secure employment before applying for the federal skilled worker program. If you do not, you would be required to have maintenance fund so you get approved.

Below is the Visa Processing Fees Details:

1.      $550 CAD for you

2.      $550 CAD if you have an accompanying spouse or common-law partner

3.      $150 CAD for each dependent child. 

The right of Permanent Residence fees:

1.      $490 CAD for you,

There are no rights of permanent residence fees for dependent children.
