The Canada Quebec Immigration Skilled Worker Program visa is a typical Quebec immigration selection system designed to determine candidates that are most likely to become economically established in Quebec.

It is for Skilled Workers or Professionals that intend residing in Montreal or some other part of the province of Quebec, whose assessment is under a system different from the rest of the applicants who wish to reside in other parts of Canada. The government of Quebec calls this the "Regular Skilled Worker Program" or QSWP - Quebec Skilled Worker Program.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this visa, applicants who are successful under the QSWP are given a Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ), after which they can go ahead to process their permanent residence application. Also, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will conduct some checks (criminal background and medical) before final approval.

To qualify for a CSQ, you have to gather enough points under the selection factors of Quebec. The ideal thing is that a single applicant gets at least 50 points, and a married applicant or an applicant with a common-law partner gets at least 59 points.

The deciding factors for points are education, work experience, age, language proficiency, financial capability, age, the area of training, and a validated employment offer.

Applying for QSWP

Anyone interested in getting a permanent residency in Quebec must follow the following steps to apply:

1. Apply online in Mon Projet Quebec system, and this will be on first come first served basis

2. Successful applicants selected are given the Quebec Certificat de Selection (CSQ)

3. Any candidate who has been given the CSQ is required to fill an application with IRCC for permanent residency.
