The following are the basic Denmark Work Permit needed to file and obtain a work permit in Denmark:
1.    An application form that is completed and duly signed.
2.    A valid passport that will remain valid for a minimum of 3 months after the expiration of the visa.
3.    A recent passport photo not more than 3 months old.
4.    Applicant must present proof of a valid job offer in Denmark before the application is made
5.    Bank statement or any other valid financial evidence showing that the applicant is financially capable of covering expected expenses during the course of stay.

EXCEPTIONS

1.      Nationals of the Nordic countries are allowed to work and live in Denmark without using a special visa.

2.      Nationals of countries within the European Union, European Economic Area, and Switzerland are also permitted to live and work in Denmark without a work permit.

3.      Also, foreigners who already have a valid Danish residence permit based on humanitarian grounds, family reunification, or asylum do not need to apply for a work permit to live and work in Denmark.

Professionals or specialized skilled employees in fields or area that Denmark suffers shortage in may live and work in the country under some Danish special schemes.

The Pay Limit Scheme

This scheme favours foreigners with a salary of not less than USD 55,000 (375,000 DKK) yearly while working for a Danish company or employer. With the aid and ratification of the employer, the applicant can file for a work permit using this scheme faster and easier.

Positive List Scheme

This scheme covers a list of professions, skills, and industries that are in shortage of experts and qualified professionals. Foreign experts in the fields covered in this list who have a minimum academic qualification of a professional Bachelor’s degree will find it easier and faster to apply and get a Danish work permit through this scheme. When filing for a work permit under this scheme, applicants are required to state their salary and the employment conditions under which they have been offered employment.

The Corporate Scheme

This plan is designed for employees of a foreign firm to obtain a work permit to live and work in a Danish subsidiary located in Denmark. This process is easier and faster for such applicants working in a sister or parent company for a period of time.

The Danish Green card scheme

This plan covers highly qualified professionals who wish to travel to Danish nation in order to search for job and afterwards work and stay in Denmark. Professionals preferred here are Religious leaders, self-employed business owners, Researchers, athletes, and trainees for educational purposes.
