121st Express Entry Draw: 3,600 ITAs Announced for Canadian PR

The 10 July Express Entry draw for Canadian immigration has resulted in 3,600 applicants being announced an Invitation to Apply (I.T.A.). The cut-off Comprehensive Ranking System (C.R.S.) score limit was 460.

In the early draw, which happened on 26 June, the C.R.S. score cut-off limit was 462 points. This is the 3rd following draw in which the C.R.S. requirement has declined, falling a total of 10 C.R.S. points since the 29 May 2019 draw that set the record high so far in the year 2019 with a cut-off score limit of 470 points.

The rule of tie-breaking was used for the 10 July draw, implying that not all applicants with CRS 460 points will get an I.T.A. As plenty of applicants may have 460 points but preference will be given to those who submitted their profile in Express Entry pool prior to 11 June 2019, at 12:27:18 UTC.

It was the 14th Canadian Express Entry draw in 2019 and the 121st since the start of Express Entry in January 2015. With 45,400 I.T.As published so far in this year and with Canada’s most aggressive immigration goals on record, the remaining 2019 is growing up to be significant for Express Entry. It could occur in continued falls in the cut-off C.R.S. score at the year proceeds.

The record low C.R.S. cut-off threshold in Express Entry in the all-program draw is 413.

Chances of Declining Express Entry C.R.S. Cut-off Score

The 10 July draw is the 3rd draw in a series in which the C.R.S. cut-off has declined, following the trend of the 26 June and 12 June draws. In the 10 July draw, 3,600 I.T.As were declared, which is an addition of 250 I.T.As that have been declared in the most current draws.

A more significant number of I.T.A.s often results in a drop in the cut-off C.R.S. score, as more applicants are added from the pool. As of 5 July 2019, there was a sum of 112,810 applicants in the Express Entry pool.

There is a range of parameters that may affect the cut-off C.R.S. score, including:

  • The number of applicants invited;
  • The repetition of draws;
  • The new candidates number that entering the Express Entry pool; and
  • Modifications in the C.R.S. scores of existing applicants, whose scores may improve or reduce depending on their conditions.
