Alberta Express Entry
On August 7, Alberta Express Entry stream, held its first draw for the month, where 35 candidates, at the CRS score of 352, received the Notifications of Interest. In the previous draw of Alberta Express Entry of July 31, 319 Notifications of Interest were issued to candidates at 400 CRS score. Jointly, the NOIs issued in these draws have reached a total figure of 354.

Alberta Express Entry Stream

The provincial stream in Express Entry permits the AINP in selecting candidates, belonging to the federal EE pool, after they meet its eligibility requirements. It invites them to seek the provincial nomination. After the launch, there were 27 draws in the Alberta Express Entry stream issuing 5,382 NOIs totally.

Moreover, the eligibility norms of the Alberta Express Entry stream demand that the candidate should have the Express Entry profile that is active. It does not require a job offer/previous work experience in Alberta for qualifying, but a candidate must possess sizable work experience in a job supporting the diversification priorities and economic development of the province. The applicant should at least have a CRS score in the range of 300 or above. It also gives Priority to candidates that have a:

  • Alberta job offer and previous work experience;

  • A post-secondary degree from Canadian institutions besides the valid job offer; or

  • Any near relative with a domicile in Alberta

Alberta Immigration Norms

In case the Express Entry profile of a candidate is expiring within three months from the date of the draw, and the occupation of a candidate is Ineligible there are fewer chances to receive the NOI of Alberta Express Entry stream.

Habitually, the Alberta Express Entry stream invites candidates with a low CRS score than the score available in federal EE draws. The top cut-off score in CRS for the provincial Express Entry is 425, for the July 10, 2019 draw.

Alberta issued invitations to candidates at 300 CRS score four times during 2019. Also the three draws, had a score of 301 one featured the score of 302.

The candidates successfully applying and receiving Alberta provincial nomination obtain 600 extra CRS score points guaranteeing them to get the ITA for Canadian Permanent Residence in later draws.
