Canada Opens Interim Pathway for Caregivers to Submit New Applications
The short-term program grants a pathway to Canada PR for people who have obtained work experience in Canada since 30 November 2014, as a home support worker, home childcare provider, or a combination of two.
Work experience needs to match the primary description and list of principal duties for National Occupational Classification (N.O.C) of Canada 4411 or 4412.
The pathway’s opened on 8 July 2019 and is it is second since it was first revealed by the Canadian government earlier this year 2019 and it will allow applications for the following three months.
The Caregivers Interim Pathway is open to those who plan to stay Quebec outside and who have:
- Permission to work in the country on a Canadian work permit other than a work permit of Live-in Caregiver Program while applying; or
- Appealed for a work permit renewal other than a work permit of Live-in Caregiver Program; or
- Appealed and is suitable for the status of restoration, and secured a Canadian work permit expect a work permit of Live-in Caregiver Program as their most current work permit; and
- Language abilities of minimum a CLB or NCLC 5 in French or English; and
- One year full-time work experience in Canada since 30 November 2014, in a related occupation; and
- At least a high school diploma from Canada or non-Canadian educational diploma, credential or certificate that’s equivalent to a high school diploma in Canada.
- Foreign credentials will need an Educational Credential Evaluation — announced within five years prior to the application date by an approved institution — that shows that the international diploma, credential or certificate is similar to a completed secondary school diploma in Canada.
