Canadians have sustained their positive approach towards immigration, as per the recent survey from the Institute of Environics. Results reveal that 58% disagree that there is too much Canada immigration.
This is down 2% points on the same survey results conducted in Feb 2018. However, it reaches at a time when the Canadian federal government has just declared plans to boost levels of immigration to 350,000 yearly by 2021.
In the meantime, Canada is dealing with a sustained influx of unusual border crossing from the USA.
With a general election approaching in 2019, views towards immigration are sure to be an essential topic for political parties of Canada. The results of Environics Survey, however, would recommend Canadians do not see it as with the central problems.
Responders set the environment, economy, poor government, health care, unemployment and poverty as more critical. By declaring Canada plan of 03-year immigration, the incumbent Liberals have given their opinion clear on the immigration importance to the economy of Canada.
Canadians are also conscious of that notable, with 76% of them accepting that immigrants have a positive impact on the economy. The Survey of Environics is centered on four principal statements, to which responders are demanded to agree or disagree.
