EU Blue Card Resident Permit for Italy

The Italy EU Blue Card is a visa that allows skilled professionals that are highly educated from Non-EU countries to relocate to Sweden to stay and work. The Blue Card is a work and residence permit for people from outside the European Union. This permit is for skilled workers who would like to work in a highly qualified job. The job requires one to have a certification that shows that one has the necessary high vocational qualifications for the job.

EU Blue Card issued gives you the opportunity to work and live in that country. After possessing the Card in the country of Sweden or foreign place within the EU for about 5 years, you can progress to make applications for your resident permit in your residential country, in as much as you have stayed in the particular place for about two years.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for Italy EU Blue Card Immigration

Certain checkboxes need to be ticked to be eligible for the Italy EU Blue Card. If you meet the requirements, you should be sure of having the Blue Card. They are:

  • You must have an employment contract with a company based in Italy.
  • The employment contract must not be less than a year.
  • Must possess a Master's Degree
  • Must have working experience of not less than five years.
  • You would be paid a salary of EUR 25,000 at the minimum annually.
  • Accommodation verification document.

Program Details and Validity

Before anyone can qualify for this card, he must have obtained a certificate or experience in his field of study. For anyone to be eligible for an EU Blue card, the applicant, skilled professional must have obtained school education certificate. This academic certificate can be from an approved institution. Applicant must provide proof that he has successfully completed this program within the stated time and such a programme must have a duration of not less than 3 years.

Workers of different categories can also apply for this program. They will be accepted based on their level of work experience.

They are sectioned into three categories namely:

Level one- This section is for company's managers and executives.

Level two- Under this category, we have professionals like doctors, nurses, teachers, lawyers, engineer, IT professionals and many more.

Level three- This includes technicians, tourist operators, accountant and many others.

Your employer must:

o   advertise the position to be filled by a professional and such contract must be valid offer for a minimum of one year

o   must offer a salary of EUR 25,000 at the minimum annually

o   must submit the proposal to the Immigration Office which has a validity of 90 days to respond

Visa Application Details

Visa Application by Worker

After the work permit has been issued, the applicant can proceed to request for the Visa at the appropriate Italian embassy or consulate in his or her own country.

Contract of Stay Executed by Employer and Worker

On arrival to Italy, a contract of stay will be executed between the applicant and the employer at the immigration office.

Residence Permit Application Filed by Worker

The worker does an application for the residence permit with the process ending at the police station.
