Applicant's documents requirements

Every Sweden Dependent Visa applicant is expected to submit the documents below:

· Valid passport

· Main applicant sponsorship

. Family certificate (personbevis)/civic registration of the family member, if already living in Sweden

Documents required from married couples

You require the following if you are not married:

• Wedding or marriage certificate
• Proof of marriage registration in your country of origin
• Evidence of national registration, confirmation of sale or rental contract for your joint residence, or any other document showing you have lived together

Unmarried couples

• Proof of national identity or any document that could prove that you are not married
• Proof of national registration, confirmation of sale or rental contract for your joint residence, or any other document showing you have lived together

Children below age 18 years

• Kinship or birth certificate.
• Written consent of the custodian of the child. In the case of only one custodian, you must attach a document indicating the fact.

Other close relatives

These are the applicant's family members or their spouse’s family:

• Document proof is crucial that shows that you and your relatives are dependent on each other and can’t live independent of each other either for emotional, social, or financial reasons
• Document proof that indicates your relation
• Document proving that you lived together just before the relative relocated to Sweden

Family member requirements

A family member is qualified to include dependents only if they have attained 18 years of age:

• A family member who desires to bring dependents should be a citizen of Sweden or possess a Swedish Permanent Residence Permit

• Holders of permanent residence permit or citizens of Denmark, Iceland, Finland, or Norway can take along dependents (who must not be a Swedish citizen) if the family member is a close relative

• A Valid E-Mail Address

Maintenance Requirements

Dependent family member has to show a document that proves that he/she has a regular income that is work-related.

The following factors could be considered as income that is work-related:

· Sickness benefits

· Unemployment benefits

· Wages and salary

· Income-based old age pension

Note: The family member who has sufficiently large capital can bring their dependent as well

Note: Document that proves housing arrangement would also be required

Visa Fee and Processing period

Application fees for a residence permit are distinct for children and adults below 18 years

· Adults: INR14 600 or SEK 1 500

· Children below 18: INR 7 300 or SEK 750 SEK

Visa Processing period depends on the embassy
