Fairfax Media announced in the past week that ambassador of Australia to the US, Joe Hockey, had gone nuts again intended legislation that could have seen Australians fighting with the Irish for a path to the scheme of plum E3 visa.
That bill has now been abolished and substituted by a new draft bill that ensures Australians resumed access to up to 10,500 US E3 visas a year. The new bipartisan law would provide Irish specialists in the U.S to appeal for any outstanding visas from Australia's yearly quota in the following fiscal year. It is assumed to be voted on prior to the end of the current year.
Australia's initial preference was to continue the single beneficiary of the E3 visa, which was built as a portion of the 2005 Agreement of Australia-US Free Trade.
Unlike additional visas, the E3 visa allows the Australian recipient's spouses to work and live in the U.S without limitations and can be renewed endlessly. It is comparatively cheap and enables Australians to bypass the pool of plenty of other candidates fighting for the right to work in America.
Notwithstanding these benefits, uptake of the visa has been late, and many go unused every year.
Few 5700 Australians took benefit of the E3 scheme in the previous year, neglecting approximately half of our yearly quota unused. Irish administrators have insisted that their aim has only been to get access to Australia's remaining visas.
