Saskatchewan has announced 743 further invitations to applicants in its Express Entry and Occupation In-Demand immigration sub-categories in draws conducted on Dec 6.

The majority of these invites 532 went to applicants in Occupation In-Demand applicants. The remaining 211 ITA's went to applicants in the Immigrant Nominee Program of Saskatchewan Express Entry sub-category, which is associated with the system of federal Express Entry and enables Saskatchewan to nominate qualified applicants for PR.

Saskatchewan Occupation In-Demand and Express Entry Sub-categories

As similar to the system of federal Express Entry, Saskatchewan practices an E.O.I system to choose applicants by these sub-categories.

Below this system, interested applicants create a profile that comprises information on their work experience, education, ability in French or English and other requirements.

Profiles are then assigned a score depends on the information presented, and those with 60 points or higher are entered into the pool of qualified applicants for either the Occupation In-Demand or Express Entry sub-category.

Applicants are placed in the pool of qualified applicants depends on their score, and a fixed number of the highest-ranked are announced invitations by regular draws. The least score required for both the sub-categories was 61.

The Dec 6 invitation rounds were the 6th for both sub-categories since Saskatchewan selected its E.O.I system in July. A sum of 4,080 invitations has been announced since then, with 1,763 passing to Express Entry applicants and 2,317 announced to profession In-Demand candidates.

To be qualified for the Express Entry sub-category of Saskatchewan, Express Entry applicants should have work experience in a high-skilled profession found on the Saskatchewan province’s In-Demand Professions List, among other requirements. A job offer from an employer of Saskatchewan is not required.
