Canada Planning to Release Parents and Grandparents Program Details

Canadian Immigration Department will issue the 2019 Program of Parents and Grandparents details soon, and it has been informed. Canada has substituted the lottery system started in 2017 with the process of first-come, first-served for the Program. In the year 2019, the nation is planning to allow 20,000 applications by the Program of Parents and Grandparents. The application aim for the year 2018 was 17,000 as per the Plan of Immigration Levels Canada issued in Oct 2018, the target of parent and grandparent entries in 2019 is 20,500. The goal for the years 2020 and 2021 is 21,000.

Substituting the Lottery System

Parents and Grandparents Program lottery system was launched in the year 2017. Below the system, the applicants were chosen at random from those who presented a curiosity to sponsor. Still, the system invited huge scale criticism as families protested that there was no access for them to understand if they would ever be chosen beneath the system. Though officials I.R.C.C and Ahmed Hussen, Immigration Minister protected the system in the starting, they have now understood that it did not resolve the problems as demanded.

Parents and Grandparents Program

Canada recognizes family reunion as a first preference, and the Parents and Grandparents Program is extremely famous among citizens of Canada and permanent residents. To apply for the Program of Parents and Grandparents, the sponsors need to submit a full ‘interest to sponsor’ form. The chosen applicants will be invited to appeal for Canada visa below the program of Parents and Grandparents. They can apply within 90 days.

The sponsors should meet specific criteria to be qualified to sponsor their parents or grandparents. These involve meeting the least income demands and presenting a signed undertaking to support financially the grandparent or parent whom they are sponsoring.
