Quebec Issues First Invitations to Candidates with EOI Profile in Arrima

Quebec has begun announcing its first invitations to Quebec Skilled Worker applicants with an EOI (Expression of Interest profile) in the Quebec province’s Arrima system. The Invited applicants started receiving notifications through email from 4 July 2019. 

Those who Obtained an invitation have a timeline of 60 days to provide a complete appeal for a Quebec Selection Certificate (C.S.Q). The Arrima system was started in Sept 2018 to maintain the bank of applicants for the Quebec Skilled Worker Program (Q.S.W.P). 

Applicants use Arrima to build an Expression of Interest profile later it is presented into the Q.S.W.P candidates' bank.  

Quebec’s Arrima System First Invitations

The Quebec government said the first invitations by Arrima will prefer applicants who either have a genuine job offer with an employer in Quebec or who satisfy one of the below conditions: 

• had their appeal for a Quebec Selection Certificate ended on 16 June 2019, and were a Quebec temporary resident when they had appealed; or
• had their appeal for a Quebec Selection Certificate ended on 16 June 2019, and were studying or working in Quebec when they had appealed.

16 June 2019, was the date where changes to the immigration laws of Quebec were passed that canceled approximately 16,000 pending appeals to the Quebec Skilled Worker Program.

The canceled appeals had all been filed before the initiation of Arrima, which Immigration Ministry of Quebec tells it is more favorable to matching immigration applicants to the particular labor needs of organizations around the province.

Applicants who come into one of the two preferred groups influenced by the improvements and who have not yet produced an Arrima profile have until 16 December 2019, to build one profile if they want to be invited to appeal for a Quebec Selection Certificate.

Quebec’s Immigration Ministry told that there will be many invitation rounds within now and 16 January 2020, for the preferred applicants described above.
